As a local family-owned café, 2 Birds is known for fresh, boutique plates and drinks with splendid service. We offer breakfast and lunch, standout coffees, craft beer and wine. You can also enjoy a refreshing mimosa made with our fresh squeezed orange juice. Every pastry is baked from scratch each morning. Expect scrumptious donuts, pan fried banana bread, and crumbly scones (our guests have called them “the best scones in Florida”). They pair perfectly with a glass of fresh squeezed OJ and ethereal drinks from our sea-foam green La Marzocco espresso machine. But don’t wait too long… our cinnamon sugar donuts tend to disappear pretty quick.

Just like our pastries, our breads are artisanal and baked in-house—from our thick-cut sourdough French Toast, to our selection of Fancy Toasts and beloved Sammies. And those crunchy potato chips? They’re hand-crafted in our kitchen too. We track down the flakiest sea salt, buttery olive oil, and juicy Chilton peaches in season. At 2 Birds, we believe in honest, quality food made with care. Attention to detail is just part of the atmosphere in our bright, welcoming space. It’s why locals feel like family, and our out-of-town friends keep coming back. 2017
A Simple Dream
2 Birds Café began with a simple dream—make great food, and be kind. Founded in 2017 by Jennifer and Taylor (the original 2 birds), the airy space in Miramar Beach evolved into something more than a café.
Jennifer and Taylor combined forces with Chef Daniel, passionate culinary innovator and sourdough wizard. The team combined a sharp eye for quality ingredients with refined taste and a fun atmosphere where people could genuinely connect. The café became a spot where tourists could relax and savor a stellar meal, and locals could linger over lunch with friends and loved ones. A special place you can’t wait to visit again.
2020
In 2020, Mircea stopped by for lunch, and quickly realized he’d stumbled upon one of the Emerald Coast’s best-kept secrets. Having worked for many of the area’s most respected restaurants, from Great Southern Café to the iconic Red Bar, he recognized the impeccable quality at 2 Birds. But there was also something more: Mircea grew up in Romania, where guests were always welcomed into the home for conversation. Jennifer and Taylor’s culture of service at 2 Birds reminded him of the way his grandmother’s home-cooked cakes had brought people together. Before long, 2 Birds had become his family’s favorite hangout. His son Sasha practically grew up there (usually with a cinnamon sugar donut in hand).

2022
Chef Daniel's Journey
Chef Daniel’s hospitality journey began in the front of the house at Pompano Joe’s from 2008–2011, followed by six years at Bud & Alley’s from 2012–2018. Daniel then continued his culinary career at Rosada Bar & Grill from 2019–2022 before joining 2 Birds Café in 2022, where he remains a key part of the café today.
2026
A New Chapter
In 2026, Mircea and his wife Lana became the new owners of 2 Birds. They soon welcomed their friend Seth to the team—Seth’s distinguished leadership in hospitality includes cooking at the James Beard House in NYC, serving the Governor at the Inaugural Dinner, executive kitchen leadership at James Shirley Enterprise, and serving as Executive Chef at Stinky’s Fish Camp in Santa Rosa Beach, among many other accolades.

But the story of 2 Birds has always been about more than ownership or leadership—it’s about the people who bring the café to life every day. Long before Mircea, Lana, and Seth joined the journey, Becca, Mona, Rickey, and Austin helped shape the heart and personality of 2 Birds. Their warmth, dedication, and genuine care for every guest have made them beloved faces in the community and a big reason why so many customers return again and again. Known as some of the area’s finest baristas, they’ve helped create the welcoming atmosphere, lasting friendships, and sense of belonging that define the café today.

Together with Chef Daniel, Becca, Mona, Rickey, Austin, Mircea, Lana, and Seth remain devoted to the café’s unique vision and the many lives it touches. For the entire 2 Birds team, the café is about delicious food, exceptional coffee, old and new friendships, and slowing down for a moment with the people you care about. It’s an ongoing, ever-evolving story of community, connection, and finding your way home.
